World Bird Sanctuary: visited yet?

Posted on: September 10, 2010

Located near the junction of I-44 and 141, World Bird Sanctuary sounds like a fabulous field trip! Personally, I have yet to visit. That will change soon, though, for I have heard wonderful reports!

With free parking and free admission, there is certainly nothing to lose in a visit to the World Bird Sanctuary!  Looking at the sanctuary map, there are plenty of birds to visit, shows to see, a visitor’s center, nature center, and a gift shop. That’s definitely plenty to interest my little ones!

Katie, who gave me this tip-off, reports that the World Bird Sanctuary isn’t busy, making for a nice low-key outing.

World Bird Sanctuary is open daily from 8-5 and closed only on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

If you’d like to see pictures from Katie’s visit to the Bird Sanctuary with her four boys, click here.

So, do tell. Have you visited World Bird Sanctuary yet? If so, would you recommend it to others?

With thanks to Katie for the tip-off!
