St. Louis Area Parks: Blackburn Park

Posted on: October 5, 2010

Tucked away off Edgar Road in Webster Groves is a fabulous little park you should be sure to visit. Blackburn Park is small enough to make it easy to visit, yet large enough to allow some exploring.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Large parking lots available both off Edgar and Jackson Roads
  • Park in Edgar Road lot for easy playground access
  • Two restrooms, with baby changing stations, located near the playground
  • Soft foam underfoot at playground
  • Playground fairly “contained”, with a low retaining wall around much of it
  • Playground equipment for the really little ones through about 8-10 years old. There really is a nice variety for a small park.
  • Picnic tables in playground area
  • Three picnic pavilions
  • Ball fields, tennis courts, bird sanctuary
  • Paved walking paths are perfect for strollers but not handicap accessible

Certainly many of you have visited Blackburn Park yourselves. Do you have any other pointers for us?
